About Cate

Cate Ray (a pen name for Cath Weeks) is a British author known for her emotionally charged thrillers. Her breakout U.S. debut, Good Husbands, was a Barnes & Noble Booksellers' Favourite,  Apple Best Book, Walmart Canada Read of the Month and Kobo Best in Mystery & Thriller.

Her follow up, The Younger Woman, continues her tradition of powerful storytelling and was chosen by SoBookedUp in the US, as well as LoveReading Ebook of the Month and a Closer Must Read in the UK.

Before writing as Cate Ray, Cath Weeks wrote four novels published in the UK. Her unique debut, Blind, was longlisted for the Waverton Good Read award and she was named an "Author to Watch" by ELLE.

Cate/Cath grew up near Bath, Somerset, and began writing at a young age. She studied English at Loughborough University and won a national writing competition. In the run up to her first book deal, she self-published two novels and her prize-winning short story was produced and broadcast by the BBC.

Before becoming a full-time author, she worked in magazine publishing in London and also lived in Paris, before returning to the city of Bath, where she lives with her husband and two sons.

When she isn't writing, Cath loves playing music. A trained pianist and flautist, she taught herself alto sax as a teen and composed music. Sometimes she's asked to play piano at weddings, in return for cake.

She's currently working on her latest novel.
